We had a fun workout at the gym this morning: 5 rounds of 10 box jumps, a 200 meter run, and 10 reps of the movement I’m doing in the picture above. Any idea what the name of this movement is?
I’ll give you a hint: Two words – The archenemy of ⚔️🛡️ + ➡️🙏⬅️
Think you got it?
Okay, one more hint: “St. Michael the Archangel, defund us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of __” + A printing __
How ’bout now? Ready with your guess?
The answer: “Devil’s Press” 👿
What in the world is a Devil’s Press? In CrossFit lingo, it’s a dumbbell burpee combined with a dumbbell snatch. In other words, it’s a movement wherein you drop to your stomach, then jump up and throw your arms over your head – all while holding a pair of dumbbells.
As scary and challenging as the Devil’s Press sounds, it’s not actually all that bad. Kind of like the devil himself…
He sounds all scary and powerful but in reality we know someone (on OUR team!) who is even more powerful:
And with Jesus, you can do anything (Philippians 4:13!).
So, whether it’s dumbbell burpees and snatches or heading into a school year full of unknowns and unlike any you’ve faced before, have no fear! God (along with every angel and saint!) is on your side, fighting with you and for you, every step of the way.
You’ve got this! 💪 ✝️
